Biological cleaning by way of sun and rain

On standard glass, dirt and water tracks collect (as shown in the first image). On self-cleaning glass, the UV rays emitted in daylight disintegrate the organic dirt (Figure 2). The hydrophile surface facilitates the distribution of water on the surface and removes the disintegrated residues and the mineral dust (Figure 3).
